Powder Puff Derby Car Build Day 1

Brooklyn started her Powder Puff car today! First she drew the design and cut it out, then she cut the wood and started sanding!

Visit to Great Grandma!

While Brooklyn was at a birthday party, the rest of us went to see Great Grandma. We got lucky and got to see Aunt Sue there too! Even though she couldn't be there, Brooklyn made a nice picture for Great Grandma of the two of them! Had a great visit!

Sturgeon Spearing!

Took the family to see some fisherman register their catch of this prehistoric fish on opening weekend. Afterwards we ventured out onto the lake (yes that is car parked on the lake.... and yes that is Tami standing on the ice!!). Can you tell that it's very cold? Temperature was about -2 with a wind chill of -15!!! Brrrrr!!!!!!

Cub Scouts tour Highway Department

First we got to tour the recycling center where they sort over 50,000 tons per year! Then we went across the street to the Highway Department and got to see where they turn regular cars into police cars, make road signs, repair trucks, and keep the snow plows!!!

Brooklyn using her new Snap Pies set from Grandma and Poppy. It worked great!!

Golden Plunger Award

For 2 years straight, Daddy has been last place in his Fantasy Football League. This year, the surprising twist is that he was awarded the first ever Golden Plunger "Loser" Trophy at his league's awards ceremony during the Super Bowl halftime yesterday. He is required to have it "prominently displayed" in our home for a year. We are just so proud. The crazy part is that Daddy actually had the second highest total points for the season...he just had bad luck at his weekly match ups! Very unfortunate! The kids aren't quite sure why Dad gets a trophy for last place, or why it's sooo much bigger than the winner's trophy (see photo with B)!
