Disney Day 1 - Magic Kingdom

Day 1 started with a 7am wake-up call....after the late night arrival at the hotel, getting the kids out of bed was quite the challenge!

But they finally popped out of bed and were ready for the Magic Kingdom!  Here we are waiting for the bus at 7:30am!

We got to the Magic Kingdom about 45 minutes before the park opened...which gave us plenty of time to take in the sights.

The park is open!

First stop, The Dumbo Ride in Fantasyland!

Next up, the Tea Cups!!  Daddy still knows hot to spin those cups!!

Believe it or not, this is what waiting in line looks like at the Winnie the Pooh ride...they sure know how to keep the kids occupied during long waits!!

Next up...the moment that Brooklyn had been waiting for all month....

A personal visit with Cinderella!!

After Cinderella, the rest of the day was just as great!

...Mac n' Cheese...

..protecting the fort...

...brief break for a game of checkers...

...and of course the "Wildest Ride in the Wilderness"...Big Thunder Mountain!

What a great first day!!

DISNEY HERE WE COME!!

Today's a big day!  Brooklyn's first airplane ride on the way to Walt Disney World!!  She was sooooo excited!  She wore her cool girl sunglasses the entire flight!

Tyler was pretty excited too...he was too little to remember his last plane ride.

Once we landed in Chicago, we had 5 hours to explore the O'Hare airport.  We went up and down escalators....

...found a full size dinosaur...

...found some cool moving sidewalks...

...and finally hit the jackpot with a airport playground!!

Finally we got to board for the flight to Orlando!  Smiles all around!

But the BEST part was arriving at the hotel at Disney World (at about 1am)!  Even the towels were shaped like mouse ears!

The sun is coming up on a chilly September morning.  It's a perfect day for a race!!

Daddy is off and we can't wait to cheer him on!

Here he comes!  Go Daddy Go!!

What a great race!  And a respectable time as well...1 hour and 42 minutes...within seconds of his best time ever!

After the race, it was time for a PARTY!!

Brooklyn made Daddy a very special Green and Yellow Football cake!
